8205. A FINE BYZANTINE BRONZE 6 SOLIDI WEIGHT, 6th-7th century AD. The square weight finely engraved with NS and a cross within a wreath. 6x23x23mm. Nice example. An early engraving of a Christian cross!

8026. A CHOICE BYZANTINE LEAD SEAL, 8th century AD. 1.25 inches. The seal stamped with cruciform monogram on the obverse, a cross and ΝΙΚΗΦΟΡΩ ΥΠΑΤΩ on the reverse. On the obverse the monogram is for "Mother of God help your servant" On the reverse, the reading is ΝΙΚΗΦΟΡΩ ΥΠΑΤΩ (Nikophoros Consul), the last word, hypatos, being a title (Greek for consul) not a part of the name. An exceptionally sharp and clear example.
