11098. LARGE TONG DYNASTY TERRA COTTA HORSE, China, Tong (Tang) Dynasty, 618-906 AD. The large powerful ceramic stallion standing on an integral base, wearing a saddle and saddle blanket but reinless. Dimensions 6.5 x 18 x 18.5 inches. The base repaired from a couple of large shards, otherwise intact with no repair or restoration. Provenance: The Princeton Collection. Acquired in the 1990's from a major US antiquities dealer.
