B.C. Each composed of convex round sheet with beaded wire perimeter,
granulated triangles forming central ten-pointed star in one ornament and
eleven-pointed star in other one. At the center there is a half-sphere boss
bordered by beaded wire and small triangles of granulation. A solid thick
wire spiral soldered to the center of the back. 22 x 21 x 24.
5719. SCYTHIAN OR WESTERN ASIATIC GOLD NECKLACE, VII cent. B.C. Composed of
fourteen hollow square cross-section beads; six hollow six-petaled rosettes
beads, two half of the same bead; thirty one hollow biconical beads and
three pendants. Half sphere top part of the pendant with suspension loop,
separated by ribbed wire, soldered to a sheet-gold band with half-spheres.
Three cones gathered by ribbed wires at the tops and bottoms with half
spheres soldered to each cone end. L. 17 1/8 "(44 cm), 27 mm- pendant
length.
5720. THREE SCYTHIAN GOLD PLAQUES, IV cent. B.C. The hammered over a matrix,
sheet-gold plaque with beaded boarder perimeter bears a recumbent ibex with
head reversed over its back. The goat has an eye inside a depressed eye
socket, slightly open mouth, ears placed (on or against?) horns with annual
notches; emphasis is given to the shoulder blades, hips and legs
musculature. Holes are pierced around the perimeter. 45 mm.

sheet-gold plaque is in the form of a cock in a right profile. The wings and
tail are decorated with linear and dotted rows of feathers. Holes are

5740. SCYTHIAN GOLD PLAQUE, V cent. B.C. The sheet-gold plaque hammered
over a matrix. Half circle composition includes stylized interlocking:
profile right bull head with eye, nostril, horns depicted by spirals; moose
profiled head left placed over bull's neck, his long ear touched by back
paws, and tail is terminated with a stylized griffin head. Holes are pierced
around the perimeter. 31 x 42 mm. Broken in half and glued with support from

hemispherical sheet-gold plaque with a loop in a center of the back. Loop

5742. SARMATIAN GOLD AND CARNELIAN EARRINGS, I- first half of II century
A.D. Carnelian bead with vertical hole unclosed in (by?) two truncated cones
with wounded wires bands. They are soldered to cylinders, one of which
joined to the truncated cone at the opposite end, another one joined to
biconical hollow bead. At the top cylinder there are three long, wire
volutes with free moving loop-in-loop chains terminated by blue glass beads.
The gold wire axle (pin?) goes through all of the parts, starting at the
bottom of biconical bead and at the top penetrates the cap, coils around
suspension loop, to which the earwire with free ends goes through. 46 mm.

5743. ROMAN GOLD RING, III century AD. Hoop formed of a flat gold strip with
overlapping ends, widening towards the trapeziform shoulders. Rectangular
shield with clear colorless glass inlay in box setting and twisted wire
boarder. Slightly deformed. 20 x 23 mm.
5744. ROMAN GOLD AND GLASS NECKLACE, II-III century AD. Composed of 9 gold
pendants with blue glass cabochons set in collar with pinched edge,
two-ribbed suspension loop decorated by twisted wire edges; 14 biconical,
hollow, ribbed gold beads, soldered from two halves; 66 spherical and semi-
spherical blue glass beads. 14" (35.6 cm).
5745. ROMAN GOLD AND GLASS EARRINGS, I century A.D. Square cross-section
solid wire hook with pointed end. The tear drop shield with tear drop shape
blue glass in the conical bezel setting framed by a border of two twisted
wires, imitating a braid, additionally granulated. Lower part of the shield
ends with rectangular-shape cross bar with beaded wire lower edge and three
hoops, to which free moving loop-in-loop chains are suspended. Each of the
chain terminated by blue glass and gold beads. A palmette at the center of
the cross bar decorated with cluster of granulation in the center and single
granules at each of curled ends. 55 mm.

in round wires; one is forming a loop with spirally twisted end in three
