SARCOPHAGUS OF A BEARDLESS YOUTH 11108. EGYPTIAN MUMMY SARCOPHAGUS. Ptolemaic Period, 2nd-3rd century BC. Complete with base and lid. Painted gesso on wood depicting the deceased as a beardless youth, the front decorated with the God Anubis above a column of hieroglyphs against a cream ground. Height 50 inches. In generally excellent condition with no inpainting or restoration. Provenance: From The Princeton Collection, acquired in the US in the 1990's.
