B3378. A MUSEUM QUALITY ARCHAIC GODDESS, ca. 6th century BC. The terracotta goddess wearing long robes and high polos, two long braids falling over her breasts, she sits on her throne with hands on her knees and bare feet emerging from undr the hem of her robes. 2.4 x 3.25 x 7 inches. A couple of flakes, otherwise in choice intact condition with marvelous detail especially in the face with its wonderful archaic smile.



B3379. A CORINTHIAN TERRACOTTA GODDESS, ca. 6th century BC. The archaic goddess, probably Demeter, seated on a throne holding a dove. 3.25 inches. Intact but for chip to base by foot. A beautiful little piece of excellent style with more detail likely under light ancient soil. Rare.



B3380. A FINE GREEK TERRACOTTA APHRODITE, ca. 5th-3rd century BC. The nude goddess standing contraposto arranging her long braids with her hands, a dolphin beside her left leg. 8.1 inches. Professional repair at midsection and chip to left shoulder. Free standing.



B3381. A GREEK TERRACOTTA EROS PLAYING WITH A DOG, ca. 3rd-1st century BC. The nude boy god seated on a rock with a playful small dog rearing up on him. 3.25 x 3.25. Intact. A charming little freestanding piece.



B3382. A GREEK TERRACOTTA EROS AND HERM, ca. 3rd-1st century BC. The erotic scene with the nude boy god embracing a herm with bearded head and erect male organ. 2 x 2.7 inches. The bottom lost but still a rare and interesting erotic piece.

The spool shaped vessel with high neck with long spout and high strap handle, the top with the figure of a seated lady holding a jewelry box framed by palmettes, the body encircled with incised vines with white leaves. 4.2 x 5.8 inches. Usual repair to handle, otherwise a choice intact example of excellent style with fine detail in the figure. Ex. old German collection.

B3399. A HELLENISTIC LAGYNOS WITH PAINTED INSCRIPTION, ca. 3rd-1st century BC. The large terracotta vessel with sharply defined shoulder and single handle rising to the high neck, an inscription in black written at the base of the neck. The inscription appears to be in cursive Greek probably reading 'APOLLWN' (Apollo). 9 x 12 inches. See Christie's London, October 1999, lot 331 for the general type. Intact. Very rare with inscription and deserving of further study.

B3401. A FINE GREEK LARGE BLACK GLAZED OINOCHOE, ca. 4th century BC. Of beautiful form with fine metallic black glaze, a molded actor's mask on the handle above the spout, a molded satyr's head at the bottom of the handle. 15.5 inches. Repair to handle. A choice and rare example.
