The heavy ossuary (bone box) fitted with a sliding lid with lug handle and decorated with a triple wave pattern formed by the maker's fingers in the wet clay, the whole covered with intact white slip. 9 x 12 x 32 inches. 75 lbs. Stable age crack, small corner chip but very strong and hard material. Extremely rare.

This piece said to have been found near Bethlehem. A very similar piece from Bethlehem, Barakat p.498, brought $1650 several years ago. Excellent condition.
