PRICE REDUCED 9689. GREEK CALENE WARE GUTTOS OIL LAMP FILLER WITH ZEUS OR HERCULES, c. 3rd century BC. The black glazed lamp filler with a facing head of Zeus or Hercules on the discus. Chip and small restored area on the rim, otherwise intact . 4.5 inches. A small honest restoration that could be touched up with a little matching paint if desired.

NEWLY LISTED 11351. COLLECTION OF 15 EARLY NATIVE AMERICAN STONE ARTIFACTS. Eastern woodland from an uncertain location in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania New York area. Various early types of hammer stones, flat stones with shallow central depressions, and one very rare fragment of a carved stone vessel (inner surface at upper right in the group photo) with an intact leg. All from the same location with museum numbers in India ink. The largest at lower right measures 5.5 inches in length. Provenance: From an extensive early 20th century New Jersey mineral and fossil collection most now residing at the Franklin Mineral museum in New Jersey; from an earlier archaeological excavation conducted by a local college and then deaccessioned.
