9978. TAIRONA CEREMONIAL STONE LADLE, ca. 800-1500 AD. The graceful stone ladle with a squatting figure carved in relief on the exterior of the bowl. 7.5 inches. Two edge flakes reattached otherwise in excellent condition. Very rare as such artifacts took an enormous amount of time to carve out of the solid stone - much more labor intensive than pottery items. Provenance: Purchased by the present owner from a major New York City antiquities dealer in the 1990's.

9964. LARGE TAIRONA SHAMANIC HUMAN-ANIMAL HYBRID VESSEL, ca. 800-1500 AD. The large animal form vessel with spout in the form of a human head. 12 x 13 inches. Hind leg and tail section repaired. Human-animal hybrids are portrayals of Shamanic psychedelic experiences.

Provenance: Purchased by the present owner from an established US antiquities dealer in the 1990's. Independently documented 3rd party proof this piece has been in the US since at least June 8, 2001 is available. 8838. TAIRONA ZOOMORPHIC VESSEL, ca. 1000-1550. The boat-shaped vessel with central spout and ring base, one upturned end in the form of an animal head, the other its tail which opens into a small pouring spout. 7 x 8.5 inches. Professionally repaired from several large shards.

Provenance: Purchased by the present owner from an established US antiquities dealer in the 1990's. 7037. LARGE TAIRONA ZOOMORPHIC EFFIGY VESSEL, c. 1000-1500 AD. On tetrapod legs with dual animal heads. 13 x 13". Cf. Labbe.159 for a similar example. Professional repair with some restoration to base, nevertheless nice and very impressive. Rare and impressive. Quite a large piece and much better detail than image shows!

7587. TAIRONA MURCIELAGO BAT VESSEL, Circa AD 500. The sizable burnished black-glazed vessel with molded bat's head and arms in relief on one shoulder, knobbed tail & legs on the opposite. 8.5" x 9". Intact and in choice condition.

7038. IMPRESSIVE TAIRONA MURCIELAGO VESSEL, c. 1000 AD. Highly burnished dark brown glazed ceremonial vessel with animal head on one end, human features on the mouth. 8 x 8". High quality, intact and quite impressive! Displays well and an excellent addition to any collection.
